Mr. S. Ramadorai
Mr. S. Ramadorai, Vice - Chairman of Tata Consultancy Services Ltd, has been associated with the company for the past 38 years. He took over as CEO in 1996 when the company's revenues were at $ 160 million and has since led the company through some of its most exciting phases, including its going public in 2004. In October 2009, he stepped down as CEO, leaving a $ 6 billion global IT services company to his successor and is now the Vice Chairman of the company.
Mr. S. Ramadorai is also the Chairman of other Tata companies - Tata Elxsi Ltd, Tata Technologies Ltd, CMC Ltd and CRL Ltd. He is on the Boards of a number of non-Tata companies and educational institutions - Tata Industries, Hindustan Unilever Limited, Bombay Stock Exchange and the MIT Sloan School of Management (EMSAB).
In recognition of Mr.Ramadorai's commitment and dedication to the IT industry he was awarded the Padma Bhushan in January 2006. In April 2009, he was awarded the CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II for his contribution to the Indo-British economic relations.
His academic credentials include a Bachelors degree in Physics from Delhi University, a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics and Telecommunications from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and a Masters degree in Computer Science from the University of California - UCLA. In 1993, Ramadorai attended the Sloan School of Management's highly acclaimed Senior Executive Development Program
Mr. S Ramadorai is also an Advisor to the Prime Minister on Skill Development.
Mr. S. Ramadorai has been the Chairperson of Axis Bank Foundation since January 2010.
Ms. Anu Aga
Ms. Anu Aga is on the Board of Thermax Limited, the Rs. 3303 Crore Company, which is a leading Indian player in energy and environment management. She retired as Chairperson of the company in October, 2004.
She has done her BA in Economics and holds a postgraduate degree in medical and psychiatric social work from Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS). She was selected for the 4-month Fullbright Scholarship for social workers in the U.S.
Ms. Aga has been very active in various national and local associations like Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) and had served as the Chairperson of CII´s Western Region. She has written extensively and given talks on the subjects of corporate governance, corporate social responsibility, role of women and education.
Ms. Aga is the Chairperson of the Thermax Social Initiative Foundation, which runs the CSR activities of Thermax, including two schools for children from the under-privileged sections of society. She is also closely associated with the Teach for India Initiative, which attempts at bridging the inequity gap in education. She is keenly involved in the causes of communal harmony and human rights, especially women and children.
Ms. Aga has been on the Board of Axis Bank Foundation since its inception in April 2006.
Ms. Sheela Patel
Ms. Sheela Patel did her Masters in Social Sciences from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. In 1984, she founded the Society for the Promotion of Area Resource Centres (SPARC), a non-profit society working on issues of equity and social justice in India, in partnership with two grassroots-level federations: the National Slum Dwellers Federation and Mahila Milan, a savings co-operative formed by women slum and pavement dwellers. In 1994, she founded SPARC Samudhaya Nirman Sahayak (SSNS), a company set up to assist slum communities take on construction initiatives in cities. She continues to be a Director of SPARC and SSNS.
She is technical advisor to Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission. She is the board of Voluntary Action Network of India and is , is Chairperson of the Society for Participatory Research in Asia
She is also associated with international organisations like International Institute of Environment and Development (IIED), UK as a member of the Board of Trustees, is a member of Water Supply and Sanitation Council and is the Chairperson of Shack Dweller's International Board.
She has several publications to her credit like:
"Plans for Dharavi: negotiating a reconciliation between a state-driven market redevelopment and residents' aspirations" with Jockin Arputham.
"An offer of partnership or a promise of conflict in Dharavi, Mumbai?" with Jockin Arputham.
'Appropriate sanitation technologies for addressing deficiencies in provision in low- and middle-income nations', with Arif Hasan, Perween Rahman and David Satterthwaite.
Ms. Patel has been on the Board of Axis Bank Foundation since its inception in April 2006.
MR. S. K. CHAKRABARTI
Mr. S. K. Chakrabarti, has served as the Deputy Managing Director of Axis Bank. He retired from the Bank after 17 years of service in September 2011. He started with one of the Banks of the State Bank Group, working for 20 years at several locations and with various assignments, including in Faculty position in the premier Staff College of State Bank Group. In 1994, he joined Axis Bank as Deputy General Manager and was initially associated with several key assignments / projects pertaining to building the foundation of the Bank.
He has previously held positions like Executive Director (Retail Banking, SME & Agri.) and Executive Director (Mid Corporate Banking). Prior to this, he worked in diverse locations in varied assignments such as Branch Manager, Zonal Head, Head of Corporate Relationships, Head of Corporate Credit etc.
Mr. Chakrabarti has been on the Board of Axis Bank Foundation since September 2011.
Mr. C Babu Joseph
Mr. C. Babu Joseph is the Executive Trustee and CEO of Axis Bank Foundation. He is a post graduate in Agriculture with specialisation in Horticulture. He is also a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers.
He started his career as an Assistant Professor in the Kerala Agricultural University and in 1979 joined State Bank of Travancore, as a Probationary Officer. In June 1995, he moved to UTI Bank (subsequently renamed as Axis Bank) and worked at their Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Basaweshwaranagar and Hyderabad branches. On his promotion as Senior Vice President, he was in charge of Small and Medium Enterprises and Agri Business at the corporate office. He was later made President of the Advances Department that handled Small and Medium Enterprises and Agri Business, Microfinance and the Rural Initiative of the Bank. He moved to Axis Bank Foundation in June 2010.
