The Mewat region is largely inhabited by Meo Muslims and has faced social alienation and economic deprivation, leading to a negative impact, especially on the women. Ibtada is presently working across 400 villages in Alwar district, Rajasthan in the field of livelihood support, community institution building and providing education to the girl child.

Axis Bank Foundation has partnered with Ibtada to enable economic empowerment through livelihood interventions, increase in financial capability of women as entrepreneurs for increasing the income of the family and linking SHGs to banks for credit.

The project also aims to develop capacities of 22,000 farmers for improved agriculture and livestock practices for better productivity like seed replacement, integrated nutrient management and crop diversification. Other interventions of the project include, development of horticulture models integrated with drip irrigation, development of improved vegetable production to motivate more farmers to adopt vegetable cultivation for better income and capacity building of Federation members regarding governance of federation.
