India is a young country with more than 50% of its population under the age of 25 years which is poised to give the country a distinct demographic advantage by 2020. High school dropout rate and lack of access to skill development have led most youth especially girls from the economically weaker sections of the society to be left behind with very few job opportunities. With an increasing demand for skills based jobs, it is very important that these unemployed youth be given required skills and training to help them move up the employment ladder. KSWA was set up in 1928 to help economically deprived youth who have not completed school find gainful employment through skills development.

Axis Bank Foundation is working with Yuva Parivartan in Maharashtra’s least urbanized regions – Marathwada and Vidarbha with the objective of making youth employable, contribute to the family income and make them socially responsible citizens.

Foundation supports the establishment and running costs of more than 25 centres being set up under the Hub and Spoke model. Each centre imparts training in courses such as Computer (hardware), Mobile phone repairing, Nursing assistance, Tailoring, Mehendi, AC and Refrigerator repairing, Motor mechanic, multi-skills technician, Beautician, Fashion Designing, DTP, Tally and Retailing etc. Basic English, Basic Computer and Life Skills Training are enabler courses offered to each student enrolled for any course at the Centre.
