Shri Guruvayurappan Bhajan Samaj (SGBS) Unnati Foundation was incorporated under the aegis of SGBS Trust. The Foundation was started with the purpose of enabling underprivileged, unemployed youth to get employed. The project ‘Unnati’ is a 70 day vocational training program for the unemployed and economically backward youth with a job at the end of the training period. SUF has been harnessing the potential of the youth by moulding them into self-reliant and productive workforce for the country. SUF is mandated to replicate UNNATI project across India on a day scholar module. The Government of India – Ministry of Labour and Employment has also recognized SGBS Unnati Foundation as a Vocational training partner under National Skill Development Scheme.

Axis Bank Foundation has collaborated with SGBS to establish vocational training centres and to organise vocational training modules for the poor and unemployed youth through an intensive program.

The project provides vocational skills training coupled with spoken English, Basic Computer skills and a robust inculcation of values and life skills. The project also has a specific training module which is taught during the evening hours and is for employed people who aspire to move up the career ladder but are not able to do due to lack of required soft skills. The course also support the youth to setup their own enterprise through the training program.
